Obituary for Pastor Jeffery Bower
Pastor Jeffery Bower went to his heavenly home on Sunday, October 22nd at 6:50 PM. He left this earth quickly and without pain because of a brain aneurysm. Those who knew Jeff, readily identified him as a great man of faith, a man who dedicated his whole life to serving others. Having served thirty-four years as senior pastor of Crawford Bible Church in Chicago, IL, and as men’s pastoral counselor for the Pacific Garden Mission, many lives were radically changed because of Pastor Jeff’s influence.
Jeff was the youngest of five siblings and the last one to leave this world. He married the love of his life, Mary Cretsinger, and spent the last fifty-two years by her side. They had four children: Brandon, Amy, Derrick, and Brock, along with twelve grandchildren. All miss him deeply and long to be with him again in glory.
Pastor Jeff’s one goal in life was to make Christ known to the broken, hurting, and lost. If he could say anything to the readers of this obituary it would be that Jesus alone can heal your brokenness. It was not only his life message, but it was also lived out daily and many lives are a testimony to his work.
A memorial service will be held at Cicero Bible Church on November 4th at 2:00 PM. Please join us in celebrating Pastor Jeff’s life. 2230 S. Laramie Ave., Cicero, IL 60804. The family requests memorials to be sent to The Lighthouse (3000 E. State Blvd., Fort Wayne, IN 46805) in honor of Jeff’s life of service.
We are happy to join our Father in heaven in saying “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
